Easy Homemade Beauty Face Masks

Giving your skin a treat is easy as pie when you know how to make a face mask. Homemade beauty face masks are often much better for your skin than store bought products. This is because they do not contain the preservatives that the store bought ones need in order to have a long shelf life.

When you make a homemade beauty face mask you can get creative and use whatever you have at home.

Oatmeal is good for thickening the face mask as well as working soothing on your skin. Honey is moisturizing and calming for the skin, while olive oil or even a whole egg is great for dry skin. If you use only the egg white it will have a tightening effect on your pores, making them smaller. If you use only the egg yolk it will be incredibly nurturing and soften up the driest of skins. Other things like yoghurt or milk can be used as well.

The acid in fruits is perfect for cleansing, reducing wrinkles and acne and making your skin silky smooth. Examples of fruits great for your beauty mask:

Avocado, Banana - moisturizing Papaya, Pineapple - cleansing and good if you have oily skin Strawberries - purifying and can lighten your skin 

Lemon, grapefruit - against oily skin

Choose the fruit that you feel suits your skin. Remember, if you're sensitive or allergic to eating a fruit then don't use it on your skin. Prepare the fruit, cut it into chunks, put it in the mixer and mix until smooth. Then blend the puree in a bowl with any other ingredients of your choice, for example oatmeal and olive oil. Here are some examples of combinations you can use:

Face mask for dry skin - 1 Banana, 1 tsp Honey, Oat meal Face mask against big pores - 1 egg white, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp honey 

Cleansing face mask - 1/2 Papaya, 1-2 tsp Oat meal, Honey
