There are a lot of different types of clay and they all have a different mineral content in them which will have a different effect on the skin. Clays are from the earth they have absorbed the sun, the plants and minerals of the earth over thousands of years. Clay has rejuvenating and anti-aging effects on the skin.
Clays come in many different colors like black, brown, green, red, white and yellow that come from all over the world. Each one has a different type of treatment for your skin. They will all combine beautifully with essential oils. The clay and oil have a synergistic effect upon each other that will give your skin beautiful results.
The most common clays are Fuller's Earth, Green Clay and White Kaolin which you can find in most health stores and pharmacies.
Fuller's Earth is very stimulating clay and has a marked effect on the epidermis. This is a brown clay and a cleansing clay that also has a desquamation action on the skin. It removes dead skin cells and can be used on oily to normal textured skin only.
Green Clay can be used on all skin types that have different types of skin conditions and this is the finest of the clays. Green Clay is good for treating acne and disturbed skin. This has an anti-aging effect on mature skin. You can use this to balance combination skin, to normalize oily skin and to rejuvenate dry skin.
Green Clay is rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium and it energizes the connective tissue. This clay leaves the skin silky smooth because it is an antiseptic which promotes healing in the skin. It also stimulates the skin gently and is effective in increasing the lymph flow and circulation which enables oxygen to speed up the elimination of waste products from your skin.
White Kaolin is best used on normal to oily skins because they have an astringent effect and removes impurities from your skin while at the same time it cleanses, improves lymphatic flow and increases the blood circulation to the area.

Basic Mask
Ingredients:
3 tsp. Corn flour
2oz. Green Clay
Mix these together and keep in a glass jar with a screw on lid that is airtight so that you will have on hand. These are for purifying, toning, soothing, rejuvenating and the basic ingredients to be used in the next few recipes.
Normal skin Mask
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. Basic Mask
1 Egg Yolk
1 tsp. Spring or Distilled Water (bottled store brought)
Combine these and use 1 drop:
2 drops Geranium Oil
1 drop Bois De Rose Oil
Mix all these together to make a smooth paste, apply to your face and leave on the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse away with spring or distilled water.
Dry Skin Mask
Ingredients:
1 tsp. Almond Oil
1 tbsp. Basic Mask
2 drops Carrot Oil
2 tsp. Spring or Distilled Water (bottled store brought)
Combine these and use 1 drop:
1 drop Chamomile Oil
1 drop Rose Oil
Mix all these together to make a smooth paste, apply to your face and leave on the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse away with spring or distilled water.
Oily Skin Mask
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. Basic Mask
1 tbsp. Brewer's Yeast
1 tbsp. Spring or Distilled Water (bottled store brought)
Combine theses and use 1 drop:
1 drop Lavender Oil
1 drop Rosemary Oil
Mix all these together to make a smooth paste, apply to your face and leave on the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse away with spring or distilled water.
Dehydrated Skin Mask
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. Basic Mask
1 tsp. Brewer's Yeast
1 tsp. Egg Yolk
1 tsp. Jojoba Oil
1 tbsp. Spring or Distilled Water (bottled store brought)
Combine these and use 1 drop:
2 drops Carrot Oil
1 drop Chamomile Oil
Mix all these together to make a smooth paste, apply to your face and leave on the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse away with spring or distilled water.
Acne Skin Mask
Ingredients:
1 tbsp. Basic Mask
1 tsp. Spring or Distilled Water (bottled store brought)
Combine these and use 1 drop:
1 drop Chamomile
1 drop Juniper Oil
1 drop Lavender Oil
1 drop Patchouli Oil
Mix all these together to make a smooth paste, apply to your face and leave on the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse away with spring or distilled water.
*Note: You should always test a small area of skin with a little bit of the mixture before you use a large amount of the mixture on a large area of the body, just to make sure that you don't experience some kind of an allergic reaction to the mixture.*
